31 Oct 1965: Jim Clark in a Lotus Type 40 with a Ford 5800 cc eninge at Riverside, Cal., USA, he started 13th and finished 2nd in the race despite having brake troubles, Bruce McLaren came in 3rd with the Elva built McLaren Mk1 Olds, McLaren stood on pole but messed up the start, after that a tyre puncture dropped him down the order. It was the year of the Chaparral cars in the States, the race was won by Hap Sharp in a Chaparral, Riverside Grand Prix (200 miles race), Riverside International Raceway, Riverside, California, Can Am Racing
